Carrie Koran - Senior Partner
Carrie has broad and deep senior level leadership experience in Claims,
Legal, Customer Service and Human Resources. Her core strengths are
helping our customers with organizational strategies to improve operations
and performance, and optimize roles and responsibilities.
Carrie is an executive and senior level coach who understands the demands
of the work and challenges to execute at a high level.
Carrie has had executive leadership responsibility for:
- A customer support operations team of 1,200 people, supporting three distribution
channels and more than 13 million transactions annually
- Personal Lines Lean 6-Sigma leader, top tier P&C carrier. Achieved 10%
annual cost reductions, three consecutive years
- HR Business leader for Personal Lines and Operations for a top 5 PL
carrier. Responsible for talent acquisition, retention and leadership
development. Also led Marketing University, responsible for training
and development of Product Management and Analyst teams
- Corporate Diversity and Inclusion Board leader for top 5 PL carrier.
Responsible for Strategy design with direct responsibility for the
National Employee Resource Group launch
- Corporate Legal National House Counsel Leader for top 5 insurer, with over 250
professionals in 27 offices. Board member – Association of Staff Counsel
- Claims SVP, Reliance Group Holdings. Led a start up and rapid growth
claims operation. Over 17 years claims experience.
Tom Kaschalk - Senior Partner
Tom’s extensive experience includes roles as Chief Claims Officer at three
insurers, field and process leadership, with operating environment
experience across the United States and Canada. Senior leadership positions
across functions include claims, marketing and operations. Tom has provided
strategic leadership, at multiple companies in a variety of operating
environments, that has created long-term organizational impact and
sustainable results.
Tom's numerous significant accomplishments include:
- Proven track record of assuming leadership of underperforming
business units and improved results.
- Design, development and deployment of a new Guidewire claim system,
including management of external development group
- Led claims transformation for handling medical and injury claims,
resulting in new process focus, SIU approaches and collaboration with
local, state and national fraud prevention organizations
- Designed organizational structure to focus on accuracy, cycle time and
customer service while reducing loss adjustment expense
- Senior process manager responsible for Special Investigations and anti-fraud efforts including internal and external fraud, claims and
underwriting for top 4 auto carrier.
- Led run off of 2 discontinued businesses, one in US, one Canada for top
5 carrier, with no disruptions in service delivery and indemnity.
- Served on Board of Governors, National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB)
for two carriers
Jim Porcari - Founder, Senior Partner
Executive claims leader for 5 insurance company acquisitions and 7 claims
department integrations in 12 years as CCO at two carriers. Extensive due
diligence experience. Has worked with C-level executives at multiple
insurance companies, companies in the insurer support eco-system as well as
principals at private equity firms working with insurers and insurer eco-
system companies.
- Leading multiple due diligences and claims department integrations
- Led AIG Personal Lines (US) claims through 2 acquisitions and 4 claims
department integrations, while moving from 5 claim systems to a single
new system
- Member, executive steering committee, AIG Global Claims Review
- Developed multiple leaders, several who are now CCO’s at top tier
companies
- Developed the “Underwriting Claims” approach to claim triage and re-
triage, featured in a white paper sponsored by LexisNexis in 2010
- Chair, Executive Committee, AIG Worldwide Investigative Resources.
Mentored new external hire as SIU unit President in the redevelopment
of process, people and controls of this key AIG shared services
operation
- Vice Chairman, Board of Governors, National Insurance Crime Bureau
(NICB) -2009, Board member 2005-2009
In addition to his P&C Industry work, Jim is the founder and managing
Director of the MPB Fund (www.MPBfund.com) a 501(c) 3 charitable fund
focused on the needs of nursing students at Community Colleges.
